Métis communities celebrate Powley Day each year on September 19th, marking the anniversary of the landmark Métis rights victory at the Supreme Court of Canada. Powley Day commemorates the most important Métis Rights recognition since the days of Louis Riel.
This year marks 20 years since the Powley judgment was made by the Supreme Court of Canada on September 19, 2003. To mark this occasion, the first online screening of a new documentary, “The Métis Hunt for Justice - The Powley Story” will be provided by the Métis Nation of Ontario on Tuesday, September 19 at 6:00 p.m. Learn more and watch the trailer.
