Dear OCDSB Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our students, staff and school communities of the District a wonderful new year. I hope that the calendar year of 2024 brings happiness and health, peace and prosperity to each and every one of you!
A reminder that all students will return to class on Monday, January 8, 2024.
OCDSB Indigenous Languages Survey
We want to preserve and celebrate the languages of First Nation, Inuit, and Métis students in OCDSB. To do so, we will be asking Indigenous students (grades 7-12) and parents/caregivers to participate in our Indigenous Languages Survey. Your answers will help us create effective plans to support language revitalization actions in the OCDSB. The survey will be shared with Indigenous students and families on January 8th, 2024.
School Council News
A reminder that the deadline for School Councils to apply for the Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grant is January 12, 2024. On our School Council News page, we have shared a speaker list for PRO Grant events, insurance information, tips for family engagement, and more.

Kindergarten and High School Information Sessions
OCDSB schools are hosting information sessions throughout January and February to help families prepare, learn how to register, and more. Visit our kindergarten and high school information session webpages for the schedules, helpful tips and other resources.

Agendas, locations, minutes, livestreams and recordings of meetings are available for public viewing using the Board and Advisory Committees' meeting calendar.
Calendars and Planning for Important Dates
Please consult the OCDSB’s Elementary and Secondary calendars for PA Days, holidays, exam dates, and more during the 2023-2024 school year. In addition, schools avoid scheduling activities like evaluations and field trips on certain religious/creed-based days of observance. Additional dates of significance can be found on the MultiFaith Calendar (located on our home page), Dates of Significance webpage, and on the Government of Canada, Ontario Government, and United Nations websites.
