Parent Involvement Committee (PIC)

At the OCDSB, our Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) seeks to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the District level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. PIC serves an integral role within the District by providing parents with the opportunity to voice their concerns, ideas and challenges while promoting further parent involvement through events such as the OCDSB Speaker Series.

PIC Members

The committee is comprised of eight (8) Parent Members, three (3) Community Representatives, two (2) representatives of the Ottawa-Carleton Assembly of School Councils (OCASC), and up to five (5) non-voting members including one Trustee and the Director of Education. PIC will meet seven times this year.

PIC Members must have knowledge, skills and/or experience in ONE or more of the following areas: public education; community engagement; equity and inclusion strategies; and public policy and/or communications. They must have a strong interest in and commitment to public education, student
achievement and well-being and be able to represent the views of a wide variety of parents.
