Parent Involvement

Getting More Involved in Your Child's Education

The OCDSB is committed to supporting, encouraging, and enhancing meaningful parent involvement within schools and across the District. By getting involved in your child's education, you will build important relationships with the people and resources in your community. More importantly, you will inspire your child to learn and build the confidence and self-esteem that he or she needs to be successful. There are many ways you can participate, from becoming a member of your child’s school council, to attending Parent Involvement Committee meetings, joining the Advisory Committee on the Arts or the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC), to attending the OCDSB Speaker Series. Find the ways that work for you!

For more information you can also visit the Ministry of Education's website.

You Are Key to Your Child's Success

Parents and guardians are a key to a child’s success in school. Just by getting involved and participating, you can have a positive impact and help your child reach his or her full potential.
We recognize that parents and guardians are an important partner in their child’s education alongside our teachers, principals, support staff, administrators and trustees.
Here, you will find helpful tools that will tell you what you need to know about your child’s education, our school board, and how you can get involved today. Please join us.
