The school district has a policy about the appropriate use of technology. The policy is rooted in the principles of good digital citizenship and outlines the standards and expectations for how students and staff use District technology, including networks, software, email, apps, devices, and infrastructure.
Two parts of the policy that the community might be most familiar with are the Appropriate Use of Technology form and the Media Permission Form.
The appropriate use of technology policy was last updated in February 2012. With so many changes in technology and the increased use of technology in the classroom, remote learning and working and business automation, the policy and the companion procedure (PR.622.IT) need to be updated.
Between June and October, the OCDSB will be consulting interested stakeholders on the policy.
