All About High School - Virtual Information Session

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board hosted All About High School, a virtual information session, for Grades 7-12 students and their families, and staff on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. This virtual conference, organized by OCDSB’s Program Learning and Innovation team, provided details about subjects, programs, and other exciting aspects of high school.

Students and families discovered the curriculum and subject areas available, as well as the various programs and supports the OCDSB offers to all secondary students. Participants could ask questions and learn about topics that interest them. Instructional coaches facilitated 15-minute presentations, allowing students/families time to ‘visit’ various subject areas, programs and supports. The sessions had live captions in multiple languages.
Recordings of selected sessions are available on this YouTube playlist.

Event Details

This event was organized using an online platform called vFairs that allows participants to visit a plenary hall, exhibitors’ hall and seminar rooms, as they would if this were in-person. They can choose sessions in advance, and log in to find the information and hear the stories that they are looking for. The structure allows them to personalize their experience. They can choose to participate in all, or only parts of the day.
