About Michele
As the OCDSB’s Executive Officer of Corporate Services, Michele Giroux supports a number of managers and teams directly engaged in providing district-wide operations, including Communications, Board Services, and Research, Evaluation, and Analytics.

Michele studied political science and Canadian Studies at Carleton University. She has over 30 years of experience supporting local government in our community, and has worked for municipal and provincial governments as well as her own private consulting practice. 

Michele supports senior staff and the Board of Trustees in the development, implementation and measurement of the District's multi-year strategic planning process. She is also the District’s privacy head, overseeing corporate records, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFOIPPA), and privacy impact assessments.

Michele’s additional training and certifications include the Osgoode Certificate in Human Rights for Education Professionals; Diversity and Inclusion and Unconscious Bias Training; Cultural Proficiency, and an Emotional Intelligence for Personal Leadership & Facilitator Accreditation.

Michele says it has been an incredible learning opportunity to navigate changes to the delivery and support of public education throughout the pandemic. She believes the OCDSB is fortunate to have such dynamic people working tirelessly in schools, in offices, and from home.
